Taken from Introduction: The aim of this guide is not to educate you about the cultural history of Bulgaria or tell you when the museums are open. It’s to tell you the best spots to ski and ride, where to stay and where to unwind after a day on the hill.

Many visitors to Bulgaria are lucky if they can name more than one ski resort. We want to help all those who like to “hit the ground running” or the more adventurous who see a road-trip exploring the numerous mountain ranges of the country as an alternative option to a package holiday.

This is a commercial guide. However, we are selective about recommending any accommodation, restaurants or bars we would not frequent ourselves (please see Note to Advertisers section). The cost of advertising covers the design costs and other expenses related to reviewing so many ski destinations in one country and, as yet, no one involved in this guide has been able to put their orders in for their new Aston Martin!
