The first generation of this vehicle was available in base model DL which was powered by Mitsubishi 4G37 1.8L I4 engine, the ES model which was powered by 4G63 2.0L I4 engine, while TSi and TSi AWD used the same engine with with an extra intercooled Mitsubishi 14b turbocharger (4G37T).
