Some 2000 Model Year Jaguar S-TYPE vehicles may experience a MIL illumination with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0741 stored in the PCM. This condition is most likely to result from the omission of an oil seal on the transmission stator shaft during assembly of the unit.

Some vehicles with AJ6 or AJ16 engines may exhibit engine noise immediately after a cold or hot start. This noise has been identified as relaxation of the upper (secondary) timing chain tensioner resulting in temporary chain slack.
