Body repair manual for General Motor’s 2002 S/T Sport Utility, including Chevrolet Trail Blazer, GMC Envoy and Oldsmobile Bravada. These three Sport Utility Vehicles shares the same platform which is General Motors’ GMT360 platform, however it’s offered in different engines and features. The most popular engine used by these 3 SUV is a Vortec 4200 engine or LL8, the first Atlas engine.

One of the GMC Envoy’s engine also features Displacement on Demand engine, while Chevrolet TrailBlazer features the Active Fuel Management system on its engine.

  • Front FrameM
    The re-designed frame assembly for the new S/T Utility is a mild, steel hydroformed frame assembly. A front frame service section consisting of the left and right frame ends, body, and radiator support mounting brackets and front connecting cross tube is available.
  • Radiator Support Assembly
    The radiator support assembly is made from mild steel hydroformed tube which is welded to the front structure. The Radiator Support Assembly is serviced as a complete assembly. The bolt-on portion of the upper tie bar (1) as well as the left and the right fascia support brackets (2) are a part of the radiator assembly. If the damage is limited to these parts, they can be ordered and replaced individually. Replacement of the radiator support assembly requires removal of the upper fender rails. Upper fender rail service extensions (3) are included with the radiator support assembly for efficient installation. If the damage permits, locate and cut off the front portion of the upper rails along the die mark indicators and install the replacement upper fender rail service extensions. This procedure must be performed on both sides of the vehicle. Left side only is shown.

    The doorframe opening is a unique laser-weld design incorporating multiple metal thicknesses to ensure the structural integrity of the vehicle. The doorframe can be replaced at factory seams, but requires the removal of the upper fender rail, the windshield, the roof panel and the quarter panel. Sectioning procedures have been developed as a more cost-effective alternative to complete replacement. The specific area to be sectioned is determined by the extent of the damage to the vehicle. Refer to Rear Pillar Sectioning, Front Lower Pillar Sectioning, Center Pillar Sectioning, and Rocker Sectioning.
  • Front Lower Pillar Sectioning
