Ford Motor Company made a series of fullsize pickup truck called Ford F-Series since 1948 and became the best selling vehicle in the US for 24 years. With the most popular variant (inside the F-Series): Ford F-150. The Ford F-Series has been rolling in production until twelfth generation till now and for 1996 model available in various diesel powered engine ranging from 4.9L to 7.3L turbo equipped or naturally aspirated engine fuel system. The following are engines that is used by ninth generation (in which 1996 F-series is slotted) of Ford F series: 4.9 L (300 CID) I6, 5.0 L (302 CID) V8, 5.8 L (351 CID) V8, 7.5 L (460 CID) V8, 7.3 L (444 CID) diesel V8 (IDI), 7.3 L (444 CID) turbodiesel V8 (IDI Turbo) & 7.3 L (444 CID) turbodiesel V8 (DI Turbo, Powerstroke). While transmission available for this generation are: 3-speed C6 automatic, 4-speed E4OD automatic, 4-speed transmission Ford AOD and AOD-E automatic, 4-speed T-18 manual, 5-speed M5OD manual and 5-speed ZF S5-42 manual.
