This small sport car was introduced for the first time in 2004 at North American International Auto Show. Pontiac Solstice available in 2 class: Roadster and Coupe, uses the GM Kappa platform and powered by either Ecotec LE5 2.4L engine or Ecotec LNF 2.0L engine.

Since its production, Pontiac has released various Solstice version such as GXP version (with GDI-Gasoline Direct Injection and duall scroll turbocharger), Targa Coupe GXP version, Weekend Club Racer Solstice Concept Car, and GXP-R Concept Car, SD-290 Race Concept.
