Lincoln Continental was a distinctively styled, highly equipped luxury xar produced by Lincoln during 1939-2002. Lincoln Aviator was replaced by Lincoln Town Car and Lincoln LS while the production was ceased.

The 1996 Lincoln Continental was its eighth generation and powered by V8 engine: 4.6 L Modular V8 and 4-speed AX4N automatic transmission, unlike its previous generation which used the V6 engine: 3.8 L Essex V6, while transmission was 4 speed AXOD-E automatic.
