The Ford Escape Hybrid is a gas powered hybrid version of Ford Escape a Sport Utility Vehicle built by Ford Motor Company, it was first introduced in 2004. It originally used Ford CD2 platform with front engine and FWD or 4WD drivetrain.

The first generation of Ford Escape Hybrid went to production from 2004 to 2007 and Duratec 23 I4 Atkinson cycle was used as the only engine empowers the 1st generation of Ford Hybrid until later another engine option was put in the second generation. The second generation is still retaining the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
