Chrysler Jeep ZJ models were manufactured by Chrysler and came in 3 trims: Base (offered basic features), Laredo (mid-scale model with standard features) and Limited (premium ZJ model).

Grand Cherokee ZJ were offered in 4 different engine layouts 4.0L AMC I6, 4.0L Power Tech I6, 5.2L Magnum V8, 5.9L Magnum V8 and 2.5L 425 OVH I4, while it predecessor, Grand Wagoneer XJ was powered by the Chrysler 5.2L V8; the automatic transmission also was offered beside the manual one. Following are the auto trans code: AW-4 Automatic Transmission (4 speed electronically controlled); 46RH Automatic Transmission (dual unit design, 4 speed used for 5.2L engine); and the manual transmission is AX 15 Manual Transmission (5 speed, synchromesh ).

This manual also covers transfer cases attached in the ZJ models, which are: NP321 Transfer Case( part time transfer case with a low range reduction gear system, with 3 operating ranges + Neutral position, operating ranges: 2 WD High, 4 WD High, 4 WD low); NP242 Transfer Case (Full and partial transfer case with 4 operating ranges, provides 2 WD and full time 4 WD); NP249 Transfer Case (Transfer case with 2 operating ranges and neutral position, operating ranges are 4 high and 4 low for extra pulling power in offroad situation — also equipped with a low range gear reduction system for increased low speed and off road torque capability).

    Thank You for any asssistance you can give me. I have the jeep and it starts but, doesn’t keep running. So, I am having trouble finding out the cause for it.
